The Amsterdam Trip - Day 2

4:56 PM

Day 2
The Avocado Show
Breakfast : Matcha pancakes and lemon and ginger tea.
It. Was. Delicious.
Worth every cent.

The Tattoo Shops
I've mentioned the idea of my new tattoo in the previous post and before we even left for Amsterdam we had been talking about each getting another one.
Not matching, per se, but something that had the same vibe.
We’d come to the conclusion of getting something floral, irises and sunflowers, naturally Van Gogh inspired. We wanted to take the leap and see if we could find a good walk-in tattoo parlor and just get them done in Amsterdam.
We spent the day going from parlor to parlor, weighing our options.
Eventually we decided it wasn’t meant to be.
(In the mean time I’ve gone to my regular tattoo artist and there are plans for my sunflower. I will be keeping y’all up to date on that, still have some details I need to think about before I take the leap and get it done.)

Late lunch, early dinner.
We  were in the mood for sushi since day 1 so finally just walked in and got some.
Maybe a little more than just 'some'.
It was all you can eat and cheaper to go during lunch time than dinner time.
So in we went.
The interior was breathtaking, they had a fabulous system to avoid food being wasted and the food was delicious.
We tried every vegetarian dish on the menu and let me tell you:
Everything, and I mean everything, was just amazing.
Also, they had some good music playing in there. Some really good tunes.

After lunch we popped into a couple of stores to try on this and that.
Then we came across another tattoo and piercing parlor.
Again, didn’t end up getting a tattoo, but my bestest did get a piercing and I wanted to mention this because the guy that did her piercing was just so damn lovely.
Out of all the places we’d been in that day, that was by far the best.
So if you’re in Amsterdam and feeling adventurous and impulsive, go to Ink Your Skin for a tattoo or piercing.
Cause they just hella nice.

The Boat Ride

You can’t not take a canal cruise. It’s a damn must.
We had gotten our tickets earlier that morning, after breakfast, and we had deliberately chosen for the 5pm boat because we wanted that sunset.
We weren’t disappointed.

We had skipped dinner, seeing that we had had such a late lunch, and went straight to the drinks that night. A cosmo and a moscow mule.
Way better service than at the café of the night before and a lovely interior design.
Instagram worthy, even if I say so myself.

The Pathé
I know it’s probably unusual to go see a movie when away on holiday.
But we were tired. We needed a break.
And they were playing The Post.
You can’t miss out on a movie with Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks can you? Especially if a ticket is only 9 euro when you're a student.
So to the cinema we went.
And it’s a good thing we did too, because it was one fine ass movie.

After that we slowly made our way back to the hostel, showered, packed up some things, and once more, slept like babies.
Tune back in tomorrow for the final day of the trip.
